Summary of term 2
In this term, I learnt about
- The properties of liquid, solid and gas
- How the particles are arranged and how they move in the 3 states of matter
- Brownian Motion
- Compounds and mixtures
- Solutions and suspensions
- Separating Immiscible Liquids
- Chromatography
- How to check the purity of substances
Term 2 was a very fun term as there were a lot of experiments. We also watched a few videos to help us, like for Brownian Motion, we saw how the particles moved around randomly. For compounds and mixtures, we were shown 4 glass cases. We saw how different the compound is from the mixture. For solutions and suspensions, we held the test tube in our hands and felt the heat from the test tube, proving that heat is involved when making solutions. For this term, I got 74/100, which is A2. This is extermely bad when compared to my term one result of 87.5/100, so I need to change my learning approach. I hope to do better the next term.
